Well I herd of a pair of red blacks being sold for more than€75 and they turned out go be 2 cocks affraid
And the pet shop 80 + so expensive or just pure greed I know I paid a lot for my birds but they were for me
I'd hate to ask a guy to pay aney more than 50 -60 for a pair after all it is only suppose to be a hobby or a fancy

    Agree 25 to 30 € 0r £ per bird is quiet enough.
I thought I would post it as there were some gold & silver agates advertised.
Dont think I will be visiting.

Fair play to John,Robbie,Ray and other members who went over to england and met the breeders and brought back birds for all the lads and was a reasonable price for the birds . i think the price of birds is getting out of control its more of a hobby instead of making money i recon in the next 2 or 3 years there will be plenty of these coloured canaries within the forum for exchanging with each other .

    Thanks Mark.

I've been in the shop and have seen the prices Shocked I got the impression all the birds were imported from Belgium & Holland.
Its a petshop for the general public not for birdmen.

I tend to agree with the comments and you can only guess the price they paid for them in Belgium.

But you can be sure it wasn't €75 a pair, but this was the prices some of the breeders was charging for stock when I was at Meckelen.

and many more was charging €50 each infact the majority was €50 each
