hi john i would just like to ask if theres any reason why i could not mix lizards in with my staffords ,,,clear ones of course,,,i like the way the lizard has a nice tight plumage compared to some staffords,,,and was thinking of incorporating it into my staffords,,,with my two young hybrid lizards lightly variegated off this year,,,i know it will take a few year to darken the red,,,but i think the benefits of the optical blue feather type of the lizard will more than compensate if it works,,,what do yer think m8,,,johnboy...

Re: stafford canarys
Hi John
Im sure you could do it as it will be a project.
The reason the loose feather in the Staffords is to let the light feathered crest blend into the body of the bird.
Im trying it at the moment with Mosaic red blacks, and will try to tighten them up when a good one comes along. You will need to of course need to be running 2 lines 1 for the plainheads. Get this one right and your just there.
Will upload some of mine when moulted out. I dont have that many as im using them as my feeders & doing a great job at it as well.

They dont look that good at the moment. The 2nd cross with the red black mosaics did not produce the results I wanted so far. . But maybe a good plainhead in it.
