Homehi im new to the forum and new breeding canary. how long a canary egg can be good with out put it back to a hen? i have a gen that laid 4 eggs and die when she laid the last egg. i asking because i have 2 more gens that is ready to laid egg, but not yet. i really want to put this eggs in another gen cause she was my most beautiful bird. thanks for your help

I have heard of an experiment with 2 canary eggs that produced 1 chick out of the 2 eggs by storing them on a bed of seeds - small side up - ambiant temperature (open box) for 40 days !
the reason for the small side up seems to avoid the yellow touching the shell too fast so may be it is better to simply turn them over every day as the hen does...
doesn't cost anything to try it if the birds are really worth the burden.

Is consider up to 7 days no problem in regural birdroom conditions and fetility starts to decline after day 10
