Beautiful bird!
I just read in a book that this mutation(ivory) should spread lipochrome on the wings.
Is that true?Please correct me.
Thanks.

It is not clear what you mean by saying 'spread lipohrome in the wings'. What exactly do you mean ?

Re: 2016 Non Int Red Ivory Cock
Sorry!
I read in this book:"fundamentals of color genetics in canaries",author:Octavio Perez-Beato
that:
"..the ivory factor acts on the lipochromes as a dilute gene, besides extending the pigment to wing and tail feathers."
The author mention that many times.
Your opinions?
Thanks.

Perez is incorrect. the lipochrome is not being diluted, the lipochrome stays the same. What is different is the structure of the feather so that light is refracted differently giving an optical illusion of dilute colouration. If colour fed in the nest you will see that the lipochrome already exists in the flight and tail feathers.

Thank you for your reply!
I understand that this book does not give a scientific explanation,so "dilution" is just a word to describe something, unluckily.
In conclusion lipochrome should appear on wing and tail feathers on the contrary to other non-ivory canaries that the wing and tail feathers are not completely colored;(before their 1 year moult)
And the ivory mutation is a different structure of the feather;(like blue-factor or structural coloration, but not the same)
Do you have any link to read it;
Thanks again!

Re: 2016 Non Int Red Ivory Cock
All red or red ivory ground birds will have coloured wings if they are fed a colouring agent in the nest. If exhibiting in continental europe it is mandatory to colour feed in the nest, unless you wish to exhibit birds in the white wing classes. Here you do not feed birds in the nest, and the wings need to be white not a cream colour.
In the UK it is optional whether you colour feed in the nest or not. David clearly decided not to do so.
The optical blue factor is not obtained from a different structure of the feather but by other causes.
i am afraid I know of no links to assist you.

You are doing good job here, with beautiful birds!
Many greetings from Greece.
