    this will be directed towards the new comer to the fany to keep them on the right tracks regarding breeding colour canaries.

    results from birds you have paired, some times the text book is not always what it reads.

    So the hens are either Ivory or Red no hidden genes.

    I have a carrier cock that I will be using next year please god. 08 Int red var, from very good line of Ivorys.
    I have 5 non int Ivory hens + 1 Int Ivory cock.
    Hopefully some nice Birds to chose from for the show season.

    may be a stupid quest but why would you X red with red ivory, what advantage does it have over red ivory X red ivory or what quality would you be trying to introduce Question

    If your red ivory where poor in colour crossing a red into the line can help strenghten the depth of colour,

    cheers dave, would you use the best coloured red that you have available or would you use a more diluted bird so as not to 'redden' the ivory too much

    Red Ivory originate from red so it is the best bird to improve it.
