Just saying hello , im David in Swinton Manchester , dont have any canarys at the moment but hoping to get started in them .
Ive bred and show cavies for over 20 years and also bred budgerigars as a kid with my dad .

Always had the odd canary as a pet and up until last year had a pair of canarys for 8 years , they lived in the house and raised 3 clutches , first clutch was a shock as the hel laid in the seed pot and so i put a plastic nest pan with felt in it where the seed pot was and placed the eggs in it and she hatched them and 2 more clutches after that .

Welcome to the forum David
Good to see you posting.
There are plenty of different colours to choose from, if you go to the Canary type section, and then look at all the Identification Stickies, there is one in each of the different colours, then look to your hearts content.

I would have thought that around September would be the first young available off most breeders.
Good luck with what ever you choose.

Wow , September , im going to have a long wait for stock then lol

Have to say im really taken with Yellow canarys so you have to be the clear yellows for me .

I have reds, clear red mosaic and yellow, yellowivory and white satinettes come over and have look.

Clear Yellow lipochromes are few and far between but they do seem to be getting a little more common than they were.
you may also consider Yellow Ivory lipochromes as well as these are a clear bird but a softer more luminous yellow.
