The one bird that has had me biting my nails was as it is now definate a singing hen and the best singer in the shed.

LOL....I had a hen that bred last year so their was no confusion.....like yours - this year she gives all the cocks a run for their money sings like crazy - I was gobsmacked. Would of had me guessing if I hadn't known.

Thanks for the great pics, Red.
Well done on the large clutch numbers and the high fertility rate. Four and five in a nest is always great to see.

It is not all plain sailing I'm having a few weird things happening but fertility does seem to be quite good.
I have had one hen hatch four out of four only to crush three of them affraid affraid affraid affraid
then seemed not to be to eager to want to feed the last one. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I had three hens lay two eggs each and stop only to go on and lay five and six egg clutches which if the sixes hatch I don't know what I'll do about reducing the numbers as they there is nothing else hatching at the same time Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Good that the grey wings are doing well ,what are the signs that tell you that they look promising for the show bench ? I am trying grey wings this year and have bred birds showing very little spangling to large amounts of spangling ,what do you look for . Very Happy
